What's Happening in Bethesda, MD…

Improv stars to come to Bethesda

Two stars who have been making people laugh for years are coming to Bethesda.

Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood are on tour with their capital Scared Scriptless Tour. The duo are the stars of the “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” sketch comedy television show. Broadcast internationally, the show has had audiences rolling for decades.

The premise is simple – audiences call out suggestions and the actors build skits around them. Their live show follows the same outline. The two will build songs and scenes around audience suggestions made at the time, hence the title “Scared Scriptless.”

Mochrie is a native of Scotland who moved to Canada where he honed his acting craft at Studio 58 near Vancouver. He was working at Toronto’s Second City when he was discovered by Mark Leveson and Dan Patterson who convinced him to move to London and join the team behind the hugely successful show.

Sherwood hails from Chicago, and wound up in the UK via Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Venice, California, where he was a member of the Venice Beach Freakshow.

The upcoming performance has been rescheduled from its original date of October 16, 2022. Patrons holding tickets from the original date will have them honored. The new performance of this goofy duo is scheduled for August 26 at Strathmore in north Bethesda. When shows like this are planned, organizers can advertise them by using poster printing techniques.
