Event near Bethesda examines social anxiety
Alvord Baker and Associates, LLC will present a virtual class for clinicians and professionals in the mental health field that will address treatment for social anxiety. The event will be conducted in Rocklin, a short distance from Bethesda, via Zoom.
Experts have researched the condition and circumstances that cause social anxiety in youth. The workshop will review the cognitive behavior therapy and social anxiety disorder treatments available for children and teenagers. The emphasis will focus on clinically-relevant exposure and related tasks. Discussion will include how to overcome care barriers and using creative methods for conducting exposures for the purpose of patient buy-in. Individual programs that meet the needs of each client will be explored, as well.
Colleen Cummings, Ph.D will be a presenter. She is a licensed psychologist and is the Director of Research for the Alvord, Baker and Associates, LLC organization. She specializes in diagnosis along with treatments for mood and anxiety disorders.
Also, a presenter at the workshop, Keri Linas, Psy.D is a licensed psychologist who possess a double doctoral degree specializing in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, along with Child, Family and School Studies.
