Cooking classes resume in Bethesda

Jaleo Bethesda is now offering its first cooking class this season, and the menu has been chosen to celebrate spring.

Students will learn how to prepare tapas, the traditional “small bites” popular in Spain. The event begins with shared bites and a cava toast (cava is a Spanish sparkling wine), then proceeds to the actual food preparation. After the meal is ready, class members will move to the dining room to enjoy their meal, accompanied by house wine and sangria. The evening will wind up with dessert.

Jaleo Bethesda is one of several restaurants in the chain thus far: the others are in Washington, D.C.; Las Vegas; Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia; and Disney Springs in Orlando. Locations are planned for Dubai and Chicago. Jaleo is the brainchild of Chef José Andrés, the world’s only chef who can boast four Bib Gourmands, and as well as a restaurant with two Michelin stars. The menu at Jaleo comprises an extensive array of small plates that bring the tastes of the chef's native Spain to Bethesda.

The class is scheduled for April 21, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Jaleo Bethesda on Woodmont Avenue. These events often sell out, and space is limited, so interested parties should get tickets soon. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for students at events like this.
