Bethesda celebrates fine arts
An annual festival is returning to Bethesda to celebrate artists, fun, and food.
The 2024 Bethesda Fine Arts Festival will have participation by local restaurants, live entertainment, and showings from 120 of the finest artists in the country, with room for more vendors to participate.
Food purveyors already committed include The Red Bandana Bakery, which serves cheesy breads, cookies, and cupcakes; the Dog Haus Biergarten, which will have Haus dogs, sides, draft beer, and vegetarian options; and the Bethesda Curry Kitchen, whose specials include wine and beer, palak paneer, and butter chicken. These and other restaurants will be found adjacent to the stage on Norfolk Avenue.
The range of fine artists is amazing and includes talented people working in ceramics, glass, wood, paint, and mixed media, and creating sculptures, furniture, and jewelry.
Live entertainment includes regional favorites Sara Jones, a jazz pianist/vocalist; Jay Byrd, singer/songwriter/guitarist; Melissa Quinn Fox, who is a country singer/songwriter; Terra Firma, R&B/jazz/soul; guitarist/vocalist Andrew Byrd; Kentucky Avenue, a country rock band; and Jarreau Williams, funk and soul.
The 2024 Bethesda Fine Arts Festival is scheduled for May 11 from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm, and May 12 from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, in the Woodmont Triangle area of the city, bordered by Del Ray, Auburn, and Norfolk Avenues. Admission is free for all attendees. When events this size are planned, organizers often reach out to print shops, who use flyer printing to create a map of the venue and list of performances for attendees.
