What's Happening in Bethesda, MD…

Bethesda area event to remember the Civil War

Funkstown Park Days is taking place just a short distance from Bethesda this month, and attendance from across the region is expected.

Showcasing the history of the Civil War, the setting will be the Funkstown Park and the event will provide the opportunity to browse through the scenic area. Vendors will be on hand to offer Early American and traditional crafts, unusual gifts, and paintings.

Vendors often use banners to highlight their booths or spaces. When local print shops handle the banner printing, the logo, taglines and graphics are often included that apply to the vendor. The banners can be hung across the back of the booth or in front of the tables to attract interest.

Historical demonstrations and Civil War re-enactments will provide entertainment as the attendees enjoy food from vendors. A 5K Trail Run/Walk is on the agenda for July 17. Horse drawn wagons, pony rides, barrel play and face painting add to the line-up of family-friendly activities.

On Sunday, July 18, an AYCE breakfast will be served at the local fire station. At 1:00 pm spectators can watch the Final Battle on the Hill.

The Funkstown Park Days will be held next weekend, from Friday July 16 to Sunday, July 18 beginning at 2:00 pm on the Friday. The venue is located in Hagerstown, and all ages are welcome.
