The Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore will be inviting rock legend Thurston Moore to discuss his book in October.
Moore will be an upcoming guest at the Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Writers LIVE program. Those who attend the event will be given a free copy of Moore’s book, titled Sonic Life. Attendees can learn about Moore’s life and how he started out as a music-loving teen from a small town in Connecticut. Seating for the presentation is available on a first come, first served basis. There will not be an opportunity for guests to get their Books signed at the program.
Sonic Youth was an influential rock band based out of New York City. Moore founded the group in 1981 alongside Kim Gordon, Anne DeMarinis, and Lee Ranaldo. In total, 15 albums were produced by the band, with 1988’s “Daydream Nation” being arguably the best known. Following a few line-up changes over the years, the band disbanded in 2011.
The presentation will be on Thursday, October 26 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Registration for the event will open to people on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 am. Doors to the event will open at 6:00 pm. Libraries that hold ongoing programs such as this may use poster printing to promote these activities to patrons.
