Baltimore to roll out historic train

Numerous cities across the United States are celebrating Independence Day, and Baltimore is no different. Organizers have put together an event intended to appeal to railroad enthusiasts of all ages.

Beginning on July 4, the B&O Railroad Museum will be displaying what many have called the most famous train of its era. Guests can enjoy an up-close-and-personal view of a cosmetically restored locomotive commonly referred to as the T-Hog. It was used to pull an equally well-known train now referred to as the American Freedom Train throughout its journey between Baltimore, and the West Coast.

The Freedom Train contained many pieces of Americana that were used to commemorate the 200th anniversary of independence from Great Britain. Some items included the robes worn by Martin Luther King, Jr., and a dress belonging to Judy Garland.

Events primarily associated with commemorative themes will frequently utilize proven marketing techniques to appeal to the public. Partnering with professional Print shops to produce Flyers, distributing Brochures throughout the city, and placing brochures in venues associated with American history are all possible examples.

The B&O Railroad Museum will unveil the T-Hog on Saturday, July 4 between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Other exhibition dates include July 15, July 18, and July 19. This event will be held within the B&O Railroad Museum located at 901 West Pratt Street. Tickets cost $20 per person.
