No fewer than 14 new vendors will be offering their foods for sale at the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which will celebrate its 40th year this year. The market opens in April with over 160 vendors taking part.
The ‘newbies’ are:
• Azafran (a café)
• the Baltimore-based Baltimore Whiskey Company
• An Asian fusion eatery called Ekiben
• Hensing's Hilltop Acres
• Rockville's La Bohemia Bakery
• The Old Line Fish Company
• Randallstown's restaurant Smokin' Joes
• A hydroponic farm called Urban Pastoral
• Rastafarmi (which is a Reisterstown organic farm)
• Le Monade (which makes craft drinks)
• Konscious Katerers
• A food truck known as Greek on the Street
• Pimlico's Cake Cre8tions by Carol
• Local Baccarella Farms
The ‘First Sunday’ of each month features events such as giveaways and cooking demonstrations. One ‘First Sunday’ event is a cooking class from ‘Chef Egg’ Erik Berlin, who will offer classes that run from 9:00 am until 10:30 am each month. The classes are $10.
The market will open for the season April 23, and runs through December 17, taking place every Sunday. It is located between Gay and Holliday streets on Saratoga Street, which is underneath the Jones Falls Expressway. The first event of the year is scheduled for opening day, and is a barbeque competition.
Events like these can benefit if organizers work with a flyer printing company, which can create a handout that lists vendors and where their booths are located.
