Fleet Week awaits in Baltimore

A major celebration is returning to Baltimore later this year.

Fleet Week in 2020 commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and is celebrated in many cities throughout the country. A number of activities are planned that are suitable for all members of the family.

In Baltimore, the festivities center on the Inner Harbor. Among the highlights are an appearance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels; tours of naval vessels; and a celebration of sailing ships.

Fleet Week is scheduled for September 9-14, with various activities on different days. Things kick off with a ceremony at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater on September 9. There will be festivals at Martin State Airport on September 12 and 13; and at the Inner Harbor on September 11, 12, and 13. The Blue Angels will appear on September 12 and 13, flying above Middle Branch and Fort McHenry; and ships from the United States and various nations will be open for tours September 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Among the ships open is the USS Constellation, the last of the Navy's all-sail warships. The USS Torsk, a World War II submarine, and the Chesapeake Lightship are also scheduled to welcome visitors.

In addition, representatives from all the branches of the armed forces will have exhibits near the Inner Harbor where everyone can enjoy them. Flyer printing can be used to provide schedules for events like this.
