Center Club announces growth plans

The Center Club, which is located in Baltimore's Transamerica Tower, says it is going to stay in its present location, and plans to expand.

The club, which is a dining and business club for members only, says staying in the tower is its best option for serving its growing number of members, and to attract residents from the downtown business district.

The club made the statement recently when it said it plans renovations as part of extending its lease in the tower for another 10 years. Currently, the club leases almost 30,000 square feet on the building's 15th and 16th floors. The president of the board of governors of the club, Patricia J. ‘PJ’ Mitchell, said changes are needed because it has become apparent that the club is no longer solely devoted to business, but a place where most members conduct social and family activities.

The renovations, which are estimated at $2.3m, will begin in June. The 16th-floor space will be expanded to allow as many as 400 people to be seated. Next year, attention will turn to the 15th floor, where the club plans to install new flooring, window treatments, furniture, and lighting. The two-story staircase that is an iconic feature of the club will remain in place.

Projects like this are appealing, and with the help of a brochure printing company, future projects of this kind can be visualized.
