Baltimore to host science fiction and fantasy convention

Baltimore will be holding a convention in May at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel for those who are fans of the science fiction and fantasy genres.

Balticon is an event that offers several activities for lovers of sci-fi and fantasy. There will be 30 hours of programming dedicated to topics in science throughout the convention. The conference will also have a short film festival where people can watch live and animated films. A few of the guests of honor at the convention will be Jane Yolen, Adam Stemple, and Ariel Burgess.

The event organizers accept many volunteers to help the conference run successfully. Those who attend the convention in person can assist with tasks like helping out during the charity auction and operating the event’s lights and sounds. People who become volunteers at Balticon will receive a custom T-shirt, free admission to the following year’s convention, food, and reserved seating for special events. No experience is necessary for signing up to volunteer for the event.

Balticon will be held from May 26 to May 29. Adult admission to the event will cost $95, and ticket prices for those aged 13-24 will cost $48. Those who are 12 and under may attend Balticon for free. Discounts are available for people who register before May 15. Organizers conventions like these may use flyer printing to promote the events.
