The Peace Advocacy Network (PAN) and Black Veg Society (BVS) will be holding a program in Baltimore that challenges people to go vegan.
The Baltimore Vegan Pledge Program is a series where people are challenged to stick to a plant-based diet for 30 days. Each meeting held during the event will include cooking demonstrations, presentations from knowledgeable speakers, and opportunities to meet with a personal vegan mentor. The series is hosted by Naijha Wright-Brown and will take place at the Urban Life Center. The organizers of the pledge program recommend that attendees wear masks to the meetings and be up to speed on vaccinations.
PAN is an organization interested in promoting a peaceful existence by practicing veganism and eliminating oppression. The president of the group is Dara Lovitz, an author and Adjunct Professor of Animal Law. BVS is a group that educates communities about the benefits of plant-based diets. The organization has a virtual resource center where people interested in veganism can watch cooking demonstrations, take wellness classes, and research wellness coaches.
The vegan pledge program will be held from Sunday, March 5 to Sunday, April 2, and each meeting will last from noon to 2:00 pm. There is no cost to join the pledge, and registration is also not required. Organizations that put together community challenges such as this may utilize poster printing to share their programs.
