School committee leads monthly workshop in Natick

The Natick School Committee will be hosting the next session of the Natick 101 Sessions next week in the School Committee Room, which is in Town Hall on the third floor.

Topics to be covered will include an introduction to the members of the Committee, their responsibilities and roles, the goals and norms of the committee, examples of recent decisions, the logistics of regular School Committee meetings, and how the public can be more engaged in the committee and the schools in the district.

The Natick 101 Sessions are a new series held both in person and streamed online. The goal is to enable residents to learn more about the services and departments of the town, as well as about community organizations and local government. Department heads in the town and other town leaders will lead all the sessions.

Staff in the town are looking to develop content that is engaging that gives a high-level introduction to each department in town, as well as to committees, related boards, and non-government organizations. This is a monthly series that will take place for the foreseeable future.

The community can be made aware of such special series and their informational purposes with flyer printing.

The upcoming Natick 101 Session will take place next Thursday, January 23 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. At least 30 minutes will be set aside for questions from attendees.
