Nobscot Plaza in Framingham is now under new ownership with plans to transform the space into a mixed-used development with 150 apartment unit and retail establishments.
Residents of Natick may be interested in such a development for the shopping opportunities when they are fully operational.
Two buildings are included in the development. There will be 10,000 square feet of retail space in the north building that will face Water Street. Highlighted in the south building will be a function patio, bike storage, and an outdoor swimming pool. There will be at least 150 housing units in both buildings with one- and two-bedroom apartments and space for parking. Such developments often use brochure printing to provide more details about amenities and features.
The plans for the development were created by Hawk Design Inc., proposed in 2019, and approved in 2020. There will also be a mix of evergreen, shade, and flowering trees; a plaza for café seating and a sculpture; lawns; and bike racks.
The project will also include updating the of the intersection of Water Street and Edgell and Edmands Roads, which will add ADA-compliant sidewalks, bus shelters, and lighting, and will see the streets widened. Work on the intersection is expected to be completed by the fall of this year, although date for the commencement of construction is not yet known.
