Natick seeks runners to raise funds for Boston Marathon

The town of Natick is sending out invitational entries to non-profit organizations, individuals on behalf of non-profit organizations, and municipal departments to raise funds that support services and programs in the town as part of the Boston Marathon.

The town of Natick, as one of the communities along the route of the Boston Marathon, has a partnership with the Boston Athletic Association to make funds available to runners who commit to raising a minimum of $4,500.

All proposals will be reviewed by the town, and the town will identify those that will be selected to receive funding through this program. Organizations based in Natick will be considered first. Those who are selected will be required to help the runners in their fundraising efforts. Local Print shops can help in such efforts to raise funds with Posters, Flyers, and other printed materials.

Organizations also need to establish a way for people to make donations online and identify the runner who is being supported, track the donations, and report the funds raised by each donor back to the Office of the Town Administrator.

Those who submit proposals need to include the nature of the organization, the program or programs to be offered, and whether the organization has been previously sponsored by a runner in the Boston Marathon.

Proposals are due no later than this Friday, November 15 at 12:30 pm to the Office of the Town Administrator.
