Natick looks for financial assistance for holiday food drives

A Place to Turn and the Natick Service Council are partnering to provide holiday drives for those in need.

This year, financial donations are being accepted. An amount of $150 can provide a family of five or more people with a Thanksgiving dinner, $125 can provide for a family of three to four people, and $100 will make such a dinner possible for a family of up to two people. For holiday gifts, $50 can be donated to buy a gift for someone over the age of 65, $100 can be donated for a gift for a teenager, and $200 will go towards gifts for one child under the age of 13. Such monetary requests and their benefits are often made known throughout the community with poster printing.

Director of A Place to Turn in Natick on Hartford Street, Joanne Barry, is also looking to the Scouting for Food drive for confirmation of its annual event, which is also a major provider of food and other items during the holidays.

A Place to Turn also is seeking monetary donations for its regular food pantry. A donation of $25 can buy eggs for 15 individuals, or perishable items like meat and cheese for five meals. A donation of $50 can go towards eggs for 30 individuals or perishable items for 10 meals.
