Natick East Park undergoes soft opening to the public

East Park in Natick is now open to the public on weekends while renovations are still undergoing.

Located near the former East Street School at the corner of Route 9 and Oak Street, the park, when completed, will have new tennis, pickle ball, and basketball courts and a multi-purpose field. Currently the newly redesigned playground for children is available for use.

The total cost for the renovations is $2.3 million. The contract for this work was awarded to MJ Cataldo Landscape and Construction Corp. in Littleton.

Karen Partanen, Director of Recreation and Parks of the town of Natick, expressed her excitement about these renovations. The official dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the park will be announced when the all work on the park is completed and it can be used by the public seven days a week. Flyer printing is often used to make announcements known to the community.

When opened, the park will be renamed for Connor Heffler who had lived near the park and spent many hours enjoying its amenities. Hours of operation will be from dawn until dusk. Dogs will still be able to be walked in the park but must remain on a leash and to be picked up after. No fires or alcohol will be allowed in the park.
