A new outpatient surgery center is expected to open in Natick next spring. It is being proposed by Shields Health Care Group and Reliant Medical Group.
To be known as The Natick Surgery Center, it will be across from the Natick Mall. Surgical services such as ear, nose and throat operations, general and vascular surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology will be offered at the center. Such centers often benefit from the use of brochure printing to provide more details about their services.
This center is a partnership of Shields, which is based in Quincy, and Reliant, which is based in Worcester. It is the second such center resulting from this partnership along with UMass Memorial Health Care. It is located in Shrewsbury and offers similar services.
ASC Holding Company will be a third partner in the Natick facility. ASC is a company that represents physicians in the community whose specialty is orthopedics.
An existing office building will be used for the surgery center. It will require renovations in the range of $10 million and will have three outpatient operating rooms, a unit for post-anesthesia care, a unit for pre-operation care, and other such related spaces.
Shields and Reliant said the center will focus on lower-cost surgical services that will still be of high-quality and facilitate access to physicians who will maintain their office at the facility.
