Natick area students invited to participate in film festival

The second annual MetroWest Student Film Festival (MWSFF) will be held this spring sponsored by The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN).

The festival features the work of students in the 32 towns and cities of the MetroWest Boston area. Students who live in these cities and towns and are between the ages 14 and 19 years old can submit their work. Organizations such as TCAN often turn to print shops to create posters, flyers, and other printed materials to inform qualified students of these types of film festivals.

The creativity and talent of the youth in the MetroWest are featured in the MWSFF, which provides an opportunity for young production teams and filmmakers to create and explore stories through the media of motion pictures. TCAN has a state-of-the-art screening room where these films created by students can be shared with families, friends, and the community.

There will be three categories for submitting feature films—animated short, documentary short, and live action short. An award for an outstanding film in each of these categories will be granted. The deadline for submitting films is Sunday, February 2 with the official public screening dates for finalists scheduled for Sunday, April 5. Submitted works will be reviewed by a jury of filmmakers and judges from the industry in the region.
