Agostino’s Italian Restaurant on Washington Street in Natick recently reopened to the public after the restaurant was closed in January due to flooding.
Owners of the restaurant, husband-and-wife team, Maria and Zissis Klisiaris, said that most of the damage occurred in the kitchen, which has been gutted, completely redesigned, and has a new hood over the stove. There was no damage to the bar, but they took down a wall in the dining room so that more seats could be added. There is also a mural with Michelangelo’s David next to a lion statue who has a flowing mane.
There will be live entertainment on the weekends and the well-known trivia nights will start again.
Maria said there are new items on the menu, including some of her favorite dishes such as pork chops Milanese and pasta a la Norma made with basil and eggplant. There is also tiramisu and a Greek salad, which pays tribute to her husband’s heritage. Among the new beverages are an Italian margarita, made with amaretto.
The prior waitstaff will be returning. Zissis said that customers will be happy about this as the waitstaff knows the establishment and have a following. He said they are “good people” and will be able to serve the customers well.
