Hospital in Natick to undergo changes in services

MetroWest Medical Center has announced that all behavioral health services at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick will be consolidated and acute care will be shifted to Framingham Union Hospital.

Chief executive officer of the Center, Andrew Harding, said the vision is that the campus at Leonard Morse will become a behavioral health specialty center that will focus on the mental health of adults, adolescents, children, and seniors in the community. He added that it is important to optimize the services the facilities provide so that the issue of behavioral health can be adequately addressed.

President and chief executive officer at the MetroWest Health Foundation, Marty Cohen, commented that these moves show that the Center is committed to behavioral health services, which are important to the region. In addition, he said that the investment in Framingham Union will help to create a strong community hospital in the region.

Flyer printing is often used to provide greater details on such upcoming changes to keep the community informed.

Framingham Union has an emergency room and departments focusing on orthopedics and urology, gynecology and obstetrics, laboratory medicine, and diagnostic imaging, among others, and offers bariatric and general surgery. There will be upgrades to the clinical equipment, cardiovascular and wound care, and the emergency room.

Hospital officials say such changes will take place in about four months.
