The Earth Day Festival for 2024 in the Natick area has been scheduled, in which the Framingham Garden Club will be taking part.
They plan to introduce several programs at its booth. One will be its program to Adopt a Pollinator Pet Rock. This program is designed to educate children about the role of pollinators in a garden through fun teachings involving a pet rock.
Adults accompanying the children will receive a list of native plants so they can learn more about the types of plants that are attractive to pollinators. There will also be a giveaway of native seeds to encourage people to try attracting pollinators in their gardens.
The Community Giving Garden will also be launching this month. This program supports residents in growing herbs and vegetables at home, before giving away some of what they harvest. The Garden Club provides educational materials and starter kits throughout the season for growing. Those who are interested in this program are encouraged to register for it online so they can pick up their starter kit on Earth Day.
Garden Club members will also be at the booth to meet members of the community and offer educational materials about gardening activities. Such materials are often created by local printing services.
This festival will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Framingham Common.
