Farm in Natick to celebrate half century
The Natick Community Organic Farm (NCOF) is looking forward to its 50th anniversary, with celebratory events planned for this month and throughout the next year.
This year-long celebration that will include fundraising, events for the family, a new logo design, and eventually a new website.
One of the commemorative events will be Farm Fest later this month, which will be an educational and fun event for the entire family. There will be activities for children, farm demonstrations, beer from Exhibit A Brewing, a Trolley Dogs food truck, live music, and local vendors. This will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11. Tickets are $5 for children under 10 years of age and $10 for adults.
The annual Seedling Sale of the farm will also be on that day, where people can get ready for the upcoming growing season by getting hold of organic seedlings. Members will be able to access the sale beginning at 8:30 am and it will be open to the general public beginning at 10:30 am. No tickets are required for this.
The farm has recently released a strategic plan that includes the observance of its 50th anniversary. The new logo design will re-introduce the farm to the public, while the updated website will facilitate navigation and registration for its many events and programs.
The farm is open 365 days a year, has 30 acres of open space, and serves 26 communities in the area.
