Over 5,000 square feet of a building located between the Morse Institute Library and Agostino’s, between Clarendon and Washington Streets, has been demolished to make way for a new structure. The building will have retail space on the ground floor and four floors of apartments. There will be a total of 48 units, eight of which will have two bedrooms with the rest being studio apartments. There will be parking off-street. Sal Oweis is the developer in charge of the project which will add about 10 affordable housing units to the city.
Bullfinch Properties has partnered with Harrison Street and Brookfield Properties to purchase the Neiman Marcus space in the Natick Mall. The space which spans 94,000 square feet over two floors is looking to reposition the space to meet current market requirements, potentially as a life science lab space. Neiman Marcus will remain in the space until September.
Finally, a loan of $25m has been granted by Needham Bank to SWEB Development of Natick to develop a wind energy project in Clifton. There will be five wind turbines that will produce 20 megawatts of clean energy, and will complement a nearby wind farm operated by SWB that is already operating.
