Bookstore moves into new Natick location
Barnes & Noble is now open in a new location in the Sherwood Plaza on Route 9 in Natick. The store is in a space that was once occupied by Petco and is next to the Dick’s Sporting Goods store.
The bookseller previously had a store at Shoppers World in Framingham but closed on January 24 when an Amazon Fresh supermarket redeveloped the space that once was occupied by the store and the neighboring Old Navy store.
A local manager from Barnes & Noble said that the store is somewhat smaller than the store in Framingham. Consequently, while many of the stores in the chain contain a Starbucks Coffee Shop, this one does not as there is already a Starbucks location in the Sherwood Plaza.
Opening such stores in new locations often means ordering promotional materials to help raise awareness in the community about such moves, offerings, and events.
Among the events at the new store is Storytime in the children’s department every Saturday morning. A fun and new story is selected each week. Storytime is held at 11:00 a.m. Another upcoming event is a book signing with Peter Abrahams, aka Spencer Quinn. His latest book is “Mrs. Plansky's Revenge,” and he will be at the Natick store on Saturday August 12 at noon to talk about and sign copies of his book.
