Soul Food Festival presented in Baton Rouge

The 3rd Annual Henry Turner, Jr. Day will take place this fall in Baton Rouge. The event takes place in Town Square and general admission is free to the public.

Presented by The Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival, Henry Turner, Jr. Day began in 2017 in recognition of individuals and organizations that provide efforts to improve life for the community residents. Turner is well known for his musical talent as a band leader, promoter and singer/songwriter.

Larry ‘LZ’ Dillon will also perform. Known as one of Turner’s Listen Room All Stars, Dillon’s songs are about his love for family and community. Uncle Chess and the Groove Band, Lilli Lewis, Smokehouse Louis and Miss Mamie, and others will entertain throughout the festival.

Festival organizers frequently use the services of local Print shops to handle banner printing. Banners can be placed high in the air to direct attendees to specific locations or in vendor booths reflecting the goods and services offered.

Celebrating the musical heritage in Baton Rouge, Johnny Palazzotto is the 2019 honoree. Considered the backbone of the industry for over 30 years, Palazzotto is a promoter and a co-founder of the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation, Inc.

The event will take place October 26 from noon until 7:00 pm. More information and food ticket information can be found via the website.
