Mushroom informational workshop educates Baton Rouge
A local spice company is planning an informative workshop to shed light on the uses of mushrooms, and Baton Rouge residents are invited to attend.
The Functional Mushrooms: Sit, Watch, and Learn seminar has an official date on the calendar, allowing area residents to plan ahead and learn more about the uses and benefits of fungi. The session will be led by Jordan Gros of Mycocentrics. Gros is a biological engineer who focuses on shedding light on sustainable methods to promote healthy bodies, ecosystems, and communities.
Mycocentrics, the company founded by Gros, uses functional mushrooms like lion’s mane, turkey tail, reishi, and cordyceps to create liquid extracts. The session will demonstrate how the process works and share more information about the health benefits of each of these functional mushrooms, helping attendees learn and promote better health outcomes. Brochure printing is a fantastic way to share more information with attendees at such events.
Attendees are welcome to bring writing utensils and notebooks to take notes at the seminar, as Gros explains how the functional mushrooms can be used to improve sleep, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve cognitive function for patients.
The mushroom seminar will be held at Red Stick Spice Company in downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, June 21, from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Tickets are available for $35 per person online.
