What's Happening in Baton Rouge, LA…

Mardi Gras returns to Baton Rouge

The city of Baton Rouge will be the location of several Mardi Gras balls and parades this January and February.

The first event taking place will be the 25th annual Spanish Town Mardi Gras Ball. The theme is ‘St. Valentine's Day Masquerade’ and it will be held at the Baton Rouge River Center beginning at 7:00 pm on January 31. Entertainment will be provided by the Bucktown All Stars. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume. The Spanish Town parade is set to take place on February 14.

Next, the Krewe of Orion's 2015 Masquerade is planned for February 7 starting at 7:00 pm, and will also take place in the Baton Rouge River Center. It will be preceded by the parade.

Rounding things off, the Mystic Krewe of Mutts parade is planned for February 8 from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Proceeds will support the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS). There will be prizes for costumes and floats. Bark in the Park is also being held, beginning at 10:00 am, and will feature vendors and informational booths.

It's likely that Baton Rouge banner printing companies will find an increase in orders leading up to these events.

There are just three of the many parades and balls that are planned for the city. To learn more, visit the Downtown Development District's website.
