The LSU Science Café has announced that they will be holding a gala to celebrate their ten-year anniversary.
The event – hosted by LSU’s Office of Research & Economic Development – will give attendees a chance to learn more about the work that the LSU Science Café has done, their contributions to the community, and what comes next for the organization. According to organizations, the café – which is supported by public funding, LSU, and Corporate Gifts – has been a major asset to the LSU and Baton Rouge community.
As such, one of the highlights of the event will be a lecture from Dr. Serena Aunon-Chancellor, LSU professor, who spent 197 days on the International Space Station in 2017. She will review her experiences and the lessons learned during her time in space, as well as how her time on the space station continues to influence her work as a physician.
The event itself will take place at the Varsity Theatre, which is located at 3353 Highland Road in Baton Rouge. For individuals who can’t make the event in person, it will also be visible via Facebook Livestream. Advanced registration is requested for in-person attendance, although there is no cost. For more information, including how to register, attendees should visit the event website at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lsu-science-cafe-anniversary-celebration-10-years-and-beyond-registration-473533721107?aff=ebdssbdestsearch.
