The 48th annual Jambalaya Festival is taking place over three days this May in Gonzales.
The event is presided over by Miss Gonzales Jambalaya Queen and her court, the members of which are chosen prior to the festival. This Memorial Day weekend event will have something to appeal to everyone in the family, with there being a 5K or one-mile run, carnival rides, and games. There will also be three stages providing music from such acts as Chris Cagle, The Chee Weez, Rockin' Doopsie, and the Zydeco Twisters and the Lil Bayou Band.
There is also set to be an art show, a car display, and craft booths. Of course, the main event is the jambalaya cooking contest, which will ultimately crown the World Jambalaya Cooking Champ of Champs. Visitors will have a chance to sample all of the dishes.
People from all over the area, including Baton Rouge, will no doubt be making the time to attend at least one day of the festival. Local printing companies might be asked to provide products such as Flyers to help with the advertising.
The Jambalaya Festival is being held at the Gonzales Civic Center from May 22 to 24. Admission is free, although rides have a separate charge. To learn more about the event, or to participate in the cooking contest, contact Loretta Templet at 225-675-6550.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
