Festive time at zoo in Baton Rouge

A new tradition for the holidays in Baton Rouge, ZooLights, will open on weekends soon to the delight of residents and visitors.

The activities include a trail that is a mile long through the zoo. Participants will have the opportunity to view over 50 illuminated displays of animal sculptures along with traditional holiday displays in a festive setting.

Displays for the ZooLights event include giraffes, lions, flamingos, tigers, elephants, alligators and more. Giant-sized snowmen and holiday trains add to the spirit. Santa in his sleigh is highlight as it is pulled by giant reindeer with toy soldiers alongside. Some displays are up to 30 feet tall.

Some of the displays will be animated adding more fun and awe to the holiday extravaganza. A Safari photo booth will provide picture fun and memories. The Flamingo Café will offer seasonal specials to tempt the appetite, and the Safari Post Gift Shop will be open for souvenirs.

Brochure printing creates materials to promote special events and can include vivid scenery and appealing content. They also make great keepsakes.

ZooLights will open November 23 at 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and $3.00 for children ages 2-12. Friends of the Zoo member ticket pricing is $3.00. For more information, visit the event website.
