According to the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, many local businesses have expressed a desire to hire interns but are unsure of how to do so. To that end, the Chamber will be hosting a workshop geared around learning how to hire and manage this demographic.
This event will be specifically geared around hiring a health studies intern who comes specifically from local colleges Attendees and presenters at the event will include regional career center representatives and representatives from the local health district.
The event will review the benefits of hiring an intern from the health district, how this process can be managed, and what fields an intern in health studies may be able to assist with. The event will also discuss how to use Handshake, which is the local talent recruitment program.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, August 10, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The venue will be the Baton Rouge Chamber offices, which are located at 564 Laurel Street in Baton Rouge. The event is free for Chamber members to attend, and anyone who is not currently a member can sign up in advance.
As always for any Chamber event, there will be opportunities for businesses to network, which is why Chamber members are encouraged to bring Business Cards and prepare to meet local businesses.
