What's Happening in Baton Rouge, LA…

Baton Rouge workshop gives jewelry new life

Creatives and jewelry collectors in Baton Rouge will want to leave space in the calendar next month, as a learning workshop is set to teach upcycling techniques.

The Bling Reborn: Upcycled Jewelry Resin Workshop is reaching out to those who want to give new life to damaged or tarnished vintage jewelry pieces in their collections. The workshop is being organized by Create Studios, a creative arts teaching space that has provided learning opportunities through several seminars in Baton Rouge, including working with resin, etching, mosaics, and jewelry.

Attendees will bring their broken jewelry pieces to the event and use step-by-step instructions to create a unique piece for home decor. It provides an opportunity to repurpose the damaged pieces and use creativity to make something new. Brochure printing is helpful for giving instructions and additional information to participants at such events.

Students can choose several templates of different shapes and sizes to accommodate the jewelry they bring and the scale of the project they wish to tackle. The largest option is on glass within a large frame, while smaller wooden sizes are also available for the project.

Create Studios Mid City in Baton Rouge will host the jewelry and resin workshop on Saturday, July 12, starting at 1:00 PM. Registration prices range from $44.51 to $87.20 per person online.
