Early winter will bring the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras to the region where this annual celebration attracts thousands of attendees. The event is hosted by the Red Stick and includes an array of family-friendly activities.
Organizations that specialize in specific parade activities are otherwise known as Krewes for the Mardi Gras festivities. An assortment of interesting krewes are lined up for the parade. Some include the Krewe of Oshun Parade and Festival, the Mystic Krewe of Mutts, Krewe of Mystique, Krewe of Spanish Town Parade, and Mid-city Gras.
The Baton Rouge Mardi Gras will kick off the 2021 event with floats, entertainment and fancy balls. The floats are renowned for their innovative beauty in recognition of the massive amount of work involved in creating them. Costumed dogs will add to the fun along with lawn mower-pushing groups. Of course, dancing and singing in the lively environment is a given.
