Officials from the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce have announced that it will be hosting a clean-up of the Mississippi Levee in the city’s downtown area.
This event is part of the Chamber’s broader commitment to creating a community that is healthy, safe, and clean. The Chamber is partnering with other local organizations – including Clean Pelican and Leadership Baton Rogue Alumni – for the clean-up day.
Volunteers will meet at Raising Cane’s River Center and will be given supplies for cleaning. From there, volunteers will outfit themselves and clean up the vast array of litter that is currently visible outside of the river.
Parking will be available at Raising Cane’s, and is entirely free. While this is a non-traditional Chamber event, attendees can still expect to meet plenty of new faces, including those who may not otherwise attend a Chamber event. As such, event attendees should bring Business Cards and come ready to expand their business network.
Registration is free, and potential attendees are asked to register so event organizers can have enough supplies on hand. Attendees will be given their own litter grabber and other clean-up supplies to enable them to clean-up around their home, business, or neighborhood.
