This month, Baton Rouge will be hosting the Providence Corporate Cup, a 5K race open to both individuals and those who participate as a team as part of a company.
This is the 31st year of the race. Many of the companies in the community have tents on site for their employees, friends, and clients. Poster printing is often used by such companies in these types of events to promote their products and services.
This year’s event will include a T-shirt design contest, a Wellness Competition, and a Cook-off Challenge, to which first, second, and third place prizes will be awarded. The winner of the Corporate Wellness Award is an individual or company that has been a leader in corporate wellness in the community of Baton Rouge by promoting healthier lifestyles through contests, physical fitness and wellness programs, and other related events. There is also a post-race party at which drinks, food, and music are provided at no cost to participants in the race.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance and the Big Buddy Program. At last year’s event, each of these organizations was given a check for $10,000.
Some of the sponsors of this year’s race include Keogh, Cox, & Wilson, Downtown Duplicating, Phelps Dunbar, and Horizon Financial Group.
The Providence Corporate Cup will be held on Saturday March 23 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
