Plans have been announced for a residential development on the site of the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire in Southgate.
To be called Memorial Point, the development, which will span 80 acres, will include an assisted living center, single-family homes, and luxury apartments. There will also be a memorial to the 165 people who lost their lives in the 1977 fire, and the cost of the project is expected to be $165m.
The project will be a joint venture between Vision Realty Group and Ashley Builders. Jim Hamberg, mayor of Southgate, said that Ashley Builders is based in Northern Kentucky, is family-owned, and has a reputation for developing quality establishments.
Memorial Point is expected to be built over five years and in phases. There will be 89 two- to four-bedroom homes with a neighborhood park and green space, maintained by a Homeowners Association. The luxury apartments will number between 100 and 200 and include an event center for meetings, parties, and family gatherings; an indoor exercise facility; and a common area with a swimming pool. There will be 79 residential units in the assisted living facility offering additional care and support. Print shops are often hired to create printed materials with more detailed information about such units and their amenities.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021.
