A new mixed-use development, with a theater, hotels, retails, office, and residential space and featuring a large music venue will soon be opening close to Southgate.
Jerry Peluso, mayor of Newport, said that this music venue and development will be a major attraction for Newport and the Cincinnati region, which includes nearby Southgate, and change the way of life for everyone.
There will also be trails, parks, public plaza, and recreational amenities at the development. The music venue, to be built by PromoWest, will hold 2,700 people inside the venue and 7,000 people outside. There will be a parking garage underneath it that will have spaces for 550 vehicles. Officials said that over 180 events will be held every year at the venue, with close to 30 of them outdoors. Promotional Products can be used to advertise such concerts throughout the region.
The development is expected to cost $40 million. The project is being funded by federal, state and local governments and PromoWest has said that this development along the waterfront with its unobstructed views of the skyline of Cincinnati will provide direct access to the Cincinnati central business district and pedestrian access to stadiums for professional baseball and football teams.
The plans are that the new music venue will be able to hold its first concert by 2020.
