This holiday season, Newport locals, and those in nearby Southgate can enjoy a unique winter-themed event in a warm, 76ºF environment.
Scuba Santa is visiting the Newport Aquarium. The jolly visitor will be performing in several dive shows where he talks and reads a story to the audience from inside of a shark tank. Santa will also introduce attendees to some of the interesting creatures at the aquarium like rare alligators. After the show, there will be a meet and greet where participants can visit and take a picture with Santa.
Kids can also bring in their Christmas letters to drop off at the post office inside the Penguin Palooza.
These activities are included with admission. No doubt the aquarium used a postcard printing service to create a direct mailer to send out to the community, informing them of the events.
Scuba Santa’s ‘Water Wonderland’ will be at the aquarium from November 28 until January 1. Shows take place every day at 11:40 am and 12:20 pm. On the weekends, opening day, and other special times, there will be additional shows. Times may change, and there will not be any shows on Christmas.
On November 25, annual pass holders are also invited to a special ‘Scuba Santa Preview’ from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Along with a dive show, guests can enjoy milk and cookies with Santa.
