Northern Kentucky to celebrate restoration weekend

NKY Restoration Weekend will be held in Newport at the Newport Intermediate School next month. Residents of Southgate who are interested in historic preservation will want to attend this special event.

Events such as this one are often promoted throughout a region with flyer printing.

NKY Restoration Weekend is a two-day celebration of the historic architecture of northern Kentucky. It is a collaboration of local artisans, craftsmen, businesses, and other organizations whose main goal is to promote historic preservation and rehabilitation in the cities and region along the Ohio River. It also provides an opportunity for local businesses and craftsmen to share and showcase their knowledge and expertise of historic preservation.

The first day is a professional track for architects and planners. The second day is geared for both professionals and amateurs and features 20 classes and demonstrations in the morning followed by a “Taste & Talk” lunch and a vendors’ fair. More classes will be held in the afternoon after the fair with the day ending with a choice of several walking tours of the city. Reservations are highly recommended for each of these activities.

The Cincinnati Preservation Association, whose goal is the promotion of the protection and appreciation of historic buildings and landscapes in the area, is a sponsor of this year’s weekend. NKY Restoration Weekend will take place on Friday March 20 and Saturday March 21.
