The Newport riverfront will see the return of Italianfest this summer. Residents of Southgate will want to make plans to attend this annual event.
ColdIron Events and the city of Newport are sponsoring Italianfest, which features live music, food, and other activities. Restaurants that will be participating in the festival will include Trottas, Alfio’s, Royal Roman, and Tony’s Italian Sausage. Such establishments often distribute Flyers created by local Print shops at these types of events to provide more information about their food and menu items.
There will also be a family photo booth with displays of generations of Italian families who settled in the city and a cooking contest highlighting Italian and many other cuisines. Kicking off the festival will be a bocci ball tournament at Pompilio’s restaurant the day before the festival begins.
Chairman of Italianfest, Tom Guidugli, Sr., expressed his excitement about the festival in that it will be one of the first festivals of the summer to be held in the region. He added that everyone is looking forward to returning to the roots of the Italian heritage in Newport and individual family traditions, which is the primary reason why Italianfest is celebrated.
Italianfest will take place at Festival Park located between the Taylor-Southgate Bridge and the Purple People Bridge from Thursday, July 15 through Sunday, July 18. There will be no charge for admission.
