Seafood lovers in Newport, and nearby Southgate, can feast on a variety of cuisine from the sea while enjoying live entertainment and a view of the Ohio River.
The 28th Great Inland Seafood Festival will have both local and national vendors selling oysters, salmon, red fish, and other types of fish and shellfish. During the four-day event, there will also be a special deal where attendees can purchase whole, live Maine lobsters for $11.95 apiece. This deal is expected to sell out early.
Each day, there will be live and free entertainment. Performing artists such as Southern Saviour, Saving Stimpy, and Kerosene Alley will take the stage.
For a chance to win a lobster in a raffle, individuals can ‘like’ the event’s Facebook page. To get the word out about the festival, the event organizers likely used a postcard printing service to create direct mailers to send out to the community.
The festival will take place on August 13 and August 14 from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm, August 15 from noon until 11:00 pm, and August 16 from noon until 9:00 pm.
The free event will be held at Newport Festival Park located on 1 Riverboat Row. Parking is available at the Newport on the Levee parking garage, located on 1 Levee Way.
