New distilleries added to bourbon trail in Southgate area
Becker & Bird Distillery in Augusta and Wenzel Whiskey in Covington have been added to the B-Line, which is a self-guided experience of bourbon establishments in Northern Kentucky.
These distilleries have also been added to the official Kentucky Bourbon Trail as part of the 10 new stops and may be of interest to those in nearby Southgate.
The B-Line was launched in 2018. It is a collection of bourbon distilleries, restaurants, and bars in Northern Kentucky, designed for visitors who are curious about bourbon in the northern part of the state.

In order to be part of the B-Line, there are seven strict criteria that need to be agreed to. Certain types of bourbon need to be stocked, and a culture of education needs to be fostered. Bars need to stock 100 labels of bourbon while restaurants are required to stock 50. Another requirement is to have weekly bourbon-infused drink and food specials.
Austin Dunbar, Wenzel Whiskey Partner, expressed his thrill in producing their own Kentucky bourbon and sharing them with the world. Owner of Becker & Bird Distillery, Dinah Bird, was also thrilled to be added to the B-line and the wider Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
