Major entertainment venue opens in northern Kentucky

The PromoWest Pavilion at OVATION in Newport is now opened.

Located close to the Taylor Southgate Bridge and Newport on the Levee, the Newport venue will be able to accommodate crowds ranging from 1,500 to 7,000 people. Scott Stienecker, CEO of PromoWest Productions, said this is the company’s first such venue in Kentucky. The company also manages one venue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and four in Columbus, Ohio.

The Pavilion will be holding concerts and be available for special events. Stienecker expects that it will host 50 events and 100 concerts per year and will have significant impact on the surrounding areas, including Southgate, as more tours will come to the venue. Major concerts and tour held at such venues are often promoted throughout a region with banner printing.

The Pavilion is part of OVATION, a mixed-use development that spans 25 acres and is comprised of restaurants, hotels, retail establishments, offices, and 1,000 residential units. There are plans for more development at OVATION that will include a pedestrian walkway from the plaza at the PromoWest Pavilion to provide a link to the restaurants, night life, and other entertainment within the development.

Planned so far for the fall is Kesha with special guest Betty Who on Sunday August 29. Thursday September 2 will be a performance by Lady A while The Struts are scheduled for Wednesday October 6.
