A new warehousing and co-packing facility for Keller Logistics Group is moving to Winston Highway in Covington.
This will be a project worth $11.48m that will enable the company to expand its payroll and create 25 full-time positions, representing good news for those living in nearby Southgate looking for employment.
The renovation of the space, which once was the home of two big-box retailers – Value City and Burlington Coat Factory – will include work to the exterior of the building, with a redesigned entrance, new Signs, painting, and landscaping the parking lot.
President and COO of Keller Logistics, Nate Schaublin, said operations at the new facility will be to take bulk-packaged beverage and food products and repack them into smaller sets of products, as well as to configure them in packages according their flavor, ready for retail sale. He added that the major goal of this project is to convert the property into a place where employees and customers will know that the company is planning to remain in the location for years to come. Banner printing at such sites can help spread this message about their goals.
Tom West, Economic Development Director, said the façade improvements are designed to indicate the collaborative spirit of the project and the vision of the city to revitalize the center, which has been out of use for some time.
