Local brewery to open in Southgate area

Alexandria will soon be the home to a new craft beer brewery and tasting room, Alexandria Brewing.

The brewery is co-owned by Andy Reyolds, a veteran from the Iraq War, and Brad Martin. When Alexandria Brewing opens, there will be 16 beers on tap and a barbeque-style cuisine, with food provided by Four Mile Pig. Reyolds said that 10 of the beers at any given time will be ones that they brewed themselves.

There will also be retro arcade games, including Centipede, Donkey Kong, and PacMan, and a pinball machine, with a mezzanine on the second floor for private parties. The space for Alexandria Brewing is in the Jolly Towne Centre shops, which is currently undergoing renovation.

Among the signature offerings will be a Berlinerweiss, a Trappist-style quad, and a Belgian-style wit. There will also be a couple of varieties of India pale ales, along with a range of seasonal beers offered on a rotating basis, with one of them paying homage to Reyolds’ service in the United States Army. This will be a Russian imperial stout that he brewed with seven of his friends from the Army six years ago in Southgate.
