Funding announced for food artisans in Southgate area

Applications for the Kroger Food Artisan Grant are being accepted by the Incubator Kitchen Collective (IKC), a nonprofit incubator for the food business in Newport.

Kroger is funding this grant opportunity and is designed to support food artisans in the area, which includes those in Southgate, to help them grow their businesses.

Eight grants a year are offered by Kroger. Each provides up to $5,040 for rent to support those entrepreneurs in the food industry who are ready to take their business to the next level. This initiative is designed to promote innovation and sustainable growth in the food industry in the region and to support talented artisans and their visions for their cuisines. The rent covers one year at the IKC.

Those who are eligible for the grant need to operate in the greater Cincinnati area, be a food business owner or entrepreneur, have operated their business for under five years, have a clear plan for how the grant will contribute to the growth of their business, and demonstrate a commitment to locally sourced and high-quality food, and/or artisanal ways to produce.

More details about such grants and their eligibility requirements are often provided by flyer printing.

Applications for the grant are due by next Tuesday, September 24, and the winner will be announced at the Taste of Gratitude Fundraiser on Sunday, November 3.
