The Campbell County Conservation District will be hosting a Campbell County Backroads Farm Tour next month.
Residents of Southgate may be interested in a unique event like this, which can use banner printing throughout the county for promotional purposes.
One of the farms participating in the tour is the Misty Ridge Farm on Owl Creek Road in nearby Melbourne. This is a farm and recreational riding stable, offering riding lessons for people at all levels. The visit will feature horse demonstrations and pony rides.
Another participating farm is Neltner’s Farm on Route 547 in Melbourne. This farm grows fruits and vegetables and is known for its jams and jellies. It also hosts a Fall Festival and can be rented for group events and weddings.
Camp Springs Vineyard and Winery is also on Route 547 in Melbourne and is a small farm winery and operates a vineyard. People can see equipment for processing grapes and antique farm equipment, walk through the vineyard, and taste and purchase wines produced there.
Little Rock Farm on Ten Mile Road in Melbourne is a farm with pasture-raised poultry, grass-fed beef cattle, and organic vegetables. The cattle will be on display, along with Elvis the donkey. The farm will offer products for sale like turkey and pork, freezer beef, chicken, fresh produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, and honey.
The Campbell County Backroads Farm Tour will be held Saturday, July 15 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
