Construction on development in Southgate begins

Work on the site of what was once the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate has begun. The site, located along US 27, now has heavy equipment and “No Trespassing” Signs as excavation is underway.

The property will be transformed into apartments, an assisted living center, and homes. To be known as Memorial Pointe, the residential community will have greenspace and a park. Brochure printing is often used to include more information and details about such developments.

No construction will be done in the area of the Cabaret Room. In this space a memorial fountain will be constructed that will honor the people who died in a fire in the room in 1977, and this will then be donated by Ashley Builders Group and Vision Realty group, developer of the property, back to the community.

Bill Kreutzjans Jr. of Ashley Builders Group expressed his excitement about being able to move forward on the residential community, and added that they will always stop to remember those who lost their lives and the ones that were left behind. Jim Hamberg, mayor of Southgate, said that Ashley will honor the history of the site as a new development in the city is being created.
