A new barrel-aged extreme beer, Samuel Adams Utopias, has been released by the brewers at Sam Adams in Boston, and they have announced that it will available on tap next month in the Samuel Adams Cincinnati Taproom.
Residents of Southgate who enjoy craft beers will want to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Announcements such as this one can be made known to the public through banner printing.
Utopias go through proprietary brewing techniques and a unique barrel-aging process so that the brew is reminiscent of a fine sherry or port. This year’s brew has been concocted with finishing barrels enhanced with madeira and cognac.
Samuel Adams has three breweries—Boston; Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania; and Cincinnati, Ohio. The brewery created only 77 wooden casks of Utopias this year. Each bottle is numbered and those who worked together on the brew receive a bottle corresponding to their date of hire. Jim Koch, the founder and brewer of Samuel Adams, receives bottle number 1 and Dean Gianocostas, head brewer, receives bottle number 2.
The Cincinnati Taproom of Samuel Adams will be celebrating its one-year anniversary this year, enabling the enjoyment of this brew close to the source. For those keen to try it, there will be a special tasting event on November 15 in the taproom across the street from the brewery.
